Jolene
Dr. Frank Scali

It is nice to see my work being passed around by some big anatomy blogs. I drew this earlier this year using graphite. The subject is my friend Jolene. The illustration depicts one of my favorite dissections, the posterior triangle.

AnastomosisDr. Frank Scali
From the artist:  “The female portrays the superficial venous blood flow, the male depicts deep arterial blood flow. Together they form the complete circulatory system. Anastomosis is the term used in anatomy when two blood vessels connect and literally means to ‘open’ or to ‘kiss.’”

Watercolors:
Excellent artwork provided by Mr. Quirk for my new publication (not complete). Depicts the muscles of the suboccipital triangle to report a newly reported structure known as the myodural bridge of the atlantoaxial interspace.
